Bought a beautiful new red/black/white R1 and took delivery on 27/06/04. Had an Akrapovic pipe put on it, it sounded fantastic. I loved it. Went on a track day at Oulton Park first week of september had a great time bike was running great.

Sunday 14/09/04 set off for a bit of a run. 10 am going round a left hand bend my life was about to change, very quickly. A guy in a Suzuki Vitara was coming round the opposite way only he was on my side of the road. I tried to brake which dragged me wide BANG end of my 800 mile R1 and nearly the end of me!

Had a helicopter ride and woke up in hospital with a guy cutting my leathers off. Told him not to! but passed out again dont remember much for a week or so.

Had broken my right leg which had a nail and screws put in. Pelvis, right wrist and shoulder broken. My right elbow was smashed but was rebuilt using about 50 plates and pins. Snapped both cruciate ligaments in my left knee which require an op. Probably the worst is the nerve damage to my right side. At the moment my right hand and wrist dont work properly, apparently only time will tell if full movement comes back.

My right eye is affected by the nerve damage to. Double vision is the result of my new "bog eyed" look. Its getting better all the time cant wait for single vision again.

Anyway have a giggle at the photos below.
